WCO 2024 – Day Three: Preview

We’ve reached round three in Chicago today as 16 players in the top half of the draws will look to move into the quarter finals of the Windy City Open 2024.

All action will now take place on the all-glass court at the University Club of Chicago. Play starts at 12:00 (GMT-6) with action available to watch live on SQUASHTV.

England’s Georgina Kennedy was forced to recover from 2-0 down to defeat Malaysia’s Aira Azman in round two, she’ll face another Malaysian to open the day’s play as she takes on Sivasangari Subramaniam, who also came through a five set clash in the second round, beating Wales’ Tesni Evans.

An entertaining all-Egyptian clash between Fares Dessouky and Mazen Hesham is next onto court. Dessouky won the first four encounters between the two but the new consistent style of Hesham has seen him take the last two match-ups both 3-0. The No.7 seed will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins to continue his fine form.

Japan’s Satomi Watanabe has been tipped to perform strongly in this years Windy City Open. She’ll take on Belgium’s No.4 seed Nele Gilis for a spot in the quarter finals.

Top seeds Nour ElSherbini and Ali Farag are back in action today as they take on Farida Mohamed and Leonel Cardenas at 17:00 & 17:45.
